Lady Betty Hastings (1682-1739) Blue Plaque

LADY BETTY HASTINGS ( 1682-1739) benefactor.
Betty was the daughter of the Earl Of Huntingdon.
On her father’s death her brother inherited his father’s title, but gave Betty the Ledstone Hall estate where she lived for the rest of her life.
Betty regularly gave money to local charities, often to assist the education of girls.
She was a major benefactor of Holy Trinity Church in Leeds where a blue plaque commemorates her.
